Santa Clara, Calif. (July 28, 2017) – Marvell Corporation (NASDAQ: MRVL), a leader in storage, networking and connectivity semiconductor solutions, announces the industry's first automotive-grade Gigabit Ethernet switch with security features , to provide a new level of new secure data transmission for next-generation interconnected vehicles. This highly secure Ethernet switch is specifically designed for the automotive industry's growing cybercrime risk and is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 and 802.11 standards. The new solution uses a deep packet inspection (DPI) engine and secure boot capability to ensure a higher level of security at the underlying hardware layer. The new switch also supports blacklist and whitelist addresses on all Ethernet ports to further enhance its security. To meet the industry's stringent standards and to withstand harsh automotive environments, the new Ethernet switches meet AEC-Q100 requirements. The new product is capable of supporting 100Mbps and 1Gbps interfaces with five integrated 100BASE-T1 transceiver interfaces for use with Marvell's previously announced 1000BASE-T1 PHY.
Samples are now available from Marvell, and new products are being evaluated by leading Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
